Whole body of an adult in a curled foetal like position.
Elongation of the skull is likely to have been by bandaging or other mechanical restriction on natural development. A pitch or tar like coating covers the whole body with the exception of the skull where this has been only partially applied or has been removed.
Mentioned in minute book for meeting of curators, July 26th 1859, described as a "Natural human mummy from a cave in North America, presented by Mr Lister and Dr Henderson"
