From Sikondi, Sierra Leone, Gold Coast, Africa. Used normally on seashore about once per week, the sexes occupying different parts of the beach. Enemata are necessary owing to habitual constipation resulting from Cassava diet. The liquid used is mainly composed of red pepper and palm oil. The neck of the gourd is introduced into the rectum and the contents gradually evacuated by alternately applying and releasing the index finger to the opening at the base of the gourd.
