A device that did not require radiographs, a rigid fixation was produced and a chance of non-union was reduced or even eliminated. Weight would have been able to be tested on the inflicted area after 7 days.
A right-angled nail plate with compression for various osteotomy. Nail section is formed at a right angle to the three-hole plate with a box section that has a flat base. Specifically designed to withstand compression stress.
The device is heavily scratched on the nail side, and has three places for screws. Included are four screws for insertion.
Inscription on the device reads: 'L.S.C.J. 1 3/4in.'
Four screws inside a sample screw top cylinder. Three of the screws are flathead tops and one is missing a top section. Two of the screws that have heads are of the same length the other is much smaller and appears with a blunt end, possibly broken. The screw with no head is approx a centimeter shorter than the two with heads. There is a small section of paper that has 'MRS J.DOWLING' on the name section of a form. At the bottom of the paper it states 'Sterilin ltd Richmond, Surrey, U.K'.
