Reusable trocar
A trocar goes inside a hollow cannula when being introduced into a body cavity to drain fluids. Modern trocars do not always have a blade at the tip as incisions are made using scalpels for their insertion. The pointed (but not sharp) tip can then be inserted with reduced danger of damaging as it pushes organs and tissue aside. Once in place they are designed to stay in position and not leak. Trocars such as this as only designed to be used once and disposed of to reduce the chances of infection between patients.
