DescriptionDouble ended hook instrument with ebony central handle. The instrument was made by Young, Edinburgh with 'Young' inscribed on the central handle. The hook end is used to aid delivery by hooking onto a limb. The other end is destructive with sharp fork like ends used to remove the foetus in an obstructed labour to prevent infection.
