TitlePlaster cast showing an ununited fracture of the left humerus of David Livingstone
DescriptionPlaster cast of the left humerus of David Livingstone, the famous traveller of Africa, who some years before his death had his arm broken by a lion and the fracture remained ununited.
The fracture seems to have been almost transverse at the deltoid tuberosity. The distal fragment over-rides the proximal fragment medially and has undergone considerable lateral rotation. There has been a moderate amount of callus but the union has been fibrous.
