DescriptionSteel tonsil guillotine. Design attributed to Laragon. Straight flattened shaft with two circular finger holes and an oval hole for the thumb at one end. The other end flares out to a squared shape which is then rounded at the end, containing a circular opening which houses a blade. The blade is operated by moving the oval thumb handle. The underside has a rectangular opening with a turning screw which can be used to remove the lower portion of the instrument which operates the blade. There is also a small two-pronged protrusion towards the blade end. There is a circular sticker with ‘24’ written in blue ink attached to the underside of the blade.
