DescriptionWet specimen.
Stomach, showing infantile stenosis of the pylorus. From a male aged 2 months.
The stomach is moderately dilated and its wall rather thicker than usual. From the pylorus a hard mass can be felt extending for some 18 mm. through the pyloric antrum towards the pyloric vestibule. This area is fuller than usual and shows as an annular expansion of the pyloric antrum. The duodenum beyond the pylorus is normal. The tumour is hard to touch and consists of hypertrophy of the muscular tissue particularly of the circular fibres.
