DescriptionHydatidiform mole.
From a female aged 55 years who had had fire children. The only complaint was slight bleeding after a period of three months amenorrhea.
The uterus which is enlarged to the size of a four to five month pregnancy has been laid open by an anterior vertical incision. The cavity is occupied by placental tissue which has, for the most part, been transferred into vesicles. These represent a cystic degeneration of the connective tissue of the chorionic villi.
