From an adult female.
The left half of the uterus is shown end this is enlarged due to the presence of a fibroid in its posterior wall. The tumour is well defined and measures 7 cm. in diameter. Extensive mucinous degeneration has occurred with the formation of pseudo cysts, The irregular area of solid tissue shows the usual whorled fasciculation of a fibromyoma. The cavity of the uterus is slightly elongated. In the cervix there are numerous mucous cysts which extend up the canal, the highest cyst in the anterior wall being situated near the junction of the cervix and body of the uterus
