DescriptionLarynx, part of the trachea, the thyroid and the thymus, showing congenital enlargement.
From a still-born full-time foetus in whom death was presumed to be due to the size of the thymus.
The nuchal portion of the thymus extends to the thyroid gland and forms a mass 40 mm. in length and 20 mm. in maximum breadth and divided, by a vertical mesial sulcus into equal parts. Caudally this portion is continuous with two lobes each 40 mm. in length, 30 mm. in maximum breadth and 25 mm. anteroposteriorly.
