DescriptionHeart with stab wounds inflicted by a fork
The heart showing multiple stab wounds of the right ventricle and atrium inflicted by a three-pronged fork. See also the fork itself (GC.2089-1) and associated skin specimen (GC.2089-2).
From a boy aged 7 who died almost immediately after being stabbed by his father who was insane. The right side of the heart was penetrated by eight or ten small wounds, two of which pierced the atrium. Some of the wounds inflicted had passed under the diaphragm into the abdomen and both the pertinoneal and pericardial cavities contained a large quantity of blood.
