DescriptionSKIN, hand - Epithelioma:
Situated on the dorsum of the left hand over the proximal part of the shaft of the second metacarpal bone and extending as far as the tendon of extensor pollicis longus on the lateral side, is a roughly circular malignant ulcer with rolled edges, a necrotic base and without signs of inflammatory reaction. The picture is that of a squamous epithelioma.
The skin on the dorsum of the hand shows the atrophy of senile change and there is considerable patchy pigmentation. Two small ulcers are present over the proximal phalanges of the third and fourth fingers and a small warty outgrowth blood stained on the third finger a little more distally.
The picture is that of a keratosis with multiple ulceration and malignant change.
This could very well be an example of a paraffin carcinoma
