The neoplasm extends on to the dorsum of the proximal phalanges of the fingers except the thumb, passes along the web of the fingers and between the middle and ring finger appears as an ulcerated nodule on the volar aspect. The fingers distal to the tumour are swollen and oedematous.. The structure of the neoplasm is that of a squamous-cell carcinoma.
