DescriptionTeeth. The mandibular left second premolar and first and second molar, showing a radicular odontome.
From a female aged 25 years who during some years had noticed that the left side of the mandible was larger than the right. The enlargement had increased gradually without pain or inconvenience until shortly before operation when, after a little tenderness, an acute inflammation followed pus accumulated and a large abscess was opened. On incising the mucoperiosteum the -tumour was easily dislodged by an elevator.
The tumour forms a globular bony mass containing in its alveolar margin three carious teeth namely, the left premolar and first and second molar. The mass weighs 32.26 gm. and measures 30 mm. horizontally and 33 mm. vertically. It is brown in colour and an its facial aspect a portion of periosteum and alveolar mucosa remains attached.
