The preparation is the medial half of a right hand
From an adult.
The middle finger and its metacarpal bone have been divided sagittally. The dorsum of the hand is covered with a hypertrophic, warty, growth, which extends to the root of the ring and the dorsal aspect of the proximal phalanx of the middle finger. Microscopic examination shows the affection to be tuberculous with secondary septic infection.
