DescriptionHalf body of stillborn foetus with iniencephaly.
There is a small defect in the occipital bone through which a small meningoencephalocoele protrudes. The cervical spine is defective and the foramen magnum is absent, the cavities of the cranium and the spina theca being continuous. There is a sharp lordotic curvature of the cervical, and the head is thrown backwards, so that the face looks up. The brain is about normal size.
