The preparation is the distal portions of the diaphysis of the tibia and fibula with the talus and calcaneum from the ankle joint
The distal epiphyses of the tibia and fibula are absent. The fibula shows no sign of tuberculosis. The other bones are light and rarefied but extensive decalcification, and no cartilage of encrustation remains on the talus or calcaneus
