The case was made by 'Arnold & Sons, Sheffield' and most instruments also have this makers mark, except the amputation knives, saw and bone forceps which are made by 'Evans'. There are two layers, one wooden tray has small retractable metal handles and can be moved to reveal the bottom layer of instruments. There are also instruments set into the lid of the case.
