From a female aged 48 years who had been aware of the growth for six months The tumour is of an irregular ovoid shape and measures approximately 50 mm. in its long axis. The surface has a smoothly nodular appearance whilst the cut surface is uniformly pale and homogeneous in character. Microscopically the tumour is a salivary gland adenoma - a mixed tumour comparable to the mixed tumour of the parotid. It is largely parenchymatous and glanduliform in character with a well developed fibrous stroma which shows some myxomatous degeneration. There is no histological evidence of malignancy.
