DescriptionAmpoule of chloroform, salvaged from the German battleship Hindenburg, which was the last of the German fleet to be scuttled in Scapa Flow at the end of the First World War, 21 June 1919. The ship was unusually scuttled so that it sank level in order to give the sailors on board opportunity to escape safely.
