One of the earliest specimens of Koch's original tuberculin to be received in Edinburgh. It was obtained directly from Koch by Dr. James Jamieson and is preserved in the original packing dated 19th February 1891.
Tubercilin was claimed at the time of its invention by Koch to be a cure for Tuberculosis. However, once in production and in general use, it was shown to be ineffective against the disease.
