DescriptionWood cut after the first of a series of five attributed to George Cruikshank (1792-1878). Various forms of drawing are depicted a) drawing academy, b) man drawing a cart; c) a child drawing a toy behind him; d) man drawing a cork; e) woman drawing beer.
In the background Monsieur Curedent can be seen drawing a tooth for a patient. Another man with a handkerchief covering his mouth enters the shop. Some lower windows are festooned with strings of extracted teeth and artificial denturescan be seen on the window-sill.
