TitleTibia and fibula showing osteophytic growth
DescriptionTibia and fibula showing osteophytic growth
The preparation is the distal portions of adult left tibia and fibula
From a middle aged male who had suffered from ulceration of the leg during many years.
The fibula is more, extensively affected than the tibia and shoves osteophytic nodules and projections in relation to all its borders especially its interosseous border where the overgrowth meets and interlocks with a similar overgrowth from the interosseous border of the tibia. There is much osteophytic formation on the medial surface of the fibula and on the tibia the most affected area is the lateral surface proximally.
There is aslo a cast of the leg showing the ulceration which overlay the osteophytic growth (see GC.3186-1)
