TitleHippopotamus ivory and silver apple scoop

DescriptionHippopotamus ivory barrel-shaped case hollowed to accommodate at end a silver scoop, at the other a silver knife. Both screw into position. ES is inscribed on the outer surface of the case, with a silver band at each end for strength. The knife is an unusual addition. The scoop is marked with an 1825 Birmingham hallmark and the knife (probably a replacement) a hallmark from 1828.
