TitleIndex finger showing gangrene.
DescriptionFinger. An index, showing gangrene.
From an adult female in whom the affection was limited to one hand. The ring and little fingers had. been similarly affected and had undergone spontaneous separation. The middle finger was also similarly affected and was amputated along with the index finger. The cause of the vascular disturbance was not ascertained.
The distal phalanx is dark brown, dried, and shrivelled. A deep sulcus marks the limit of the gangrene, and the separation of the gangrenous portion is obviously forming a conical stump.
