DescriptionEpidural needle (no cannula). Medium length bevel with Huber tip, angled slightly upwards. 1cm markings in grey go down the length of the needle, though the last 3.5cm are not marked (introduced by John Alfred Lee in 1960 so that anaesthetists would know fairly accurately the depth of the needle tip, reducing the number of dural taps.) At the proximal end (below the hub) are two lue plastic flat finger rests to aid with grip. 'Portex' is stamped on both sides of each finger rest.
