DescriptionAn ampoule of coloured indicator was placed over the metal tube attached to the 'on-off' tap (not present), and held by the clip. The apparatus was attached into the breathing circuit by the connection above a rubber bulb at the opposite end. To operate the top tap was turned on and the rubber bulb squeezed to bubble some breathing circuit gas through the indicator, which then changed colour and could be compared with the reference rotatable scale, the nearest colour giving the CO2 percentage.
