TitleChloroform Vaporiser
CreatorCoxeter (Manufacturer)
DescriptionChloroform vaposier with glass container. Black top with a lever at one side which can be switched between on and off, with increments in between. Two ports on either side allow the vaporiser to be attached to tubing. Proruding from the top is a silver screw, which alters the position of the outer, larger copper tube below. Sitting inside the glass container, a 'J' tube' at the botton is white metal at the top, and copper at the bottom section. This tube would contain oxygen and nitrous oxide to pass through, which would then collect ether vapor to be delivered to the patient. A short chain has a cork stopper attached to it. The outside of the bottle is inscribed 'chloroform' in green, with measurements in drams marked below. Early model Boyle's bottle due to lack of plunger, which was a later adaptation.
