DescriptionBlack rubber face mask with plastic mount at top where tubing would be attached. Moulded to fit over the nose and mouth. At the nose portion there is a small label reading 'Everseal' above a stamped number 3. At the chin section is a diamond shaped label reading 'Anti Static, MIE LTD, Regd Des No.868449'
The MIE everseal mask is particularly interesting as it had an innovative design that provided a significantly better airtight seal than its predecessors. It was designed by MIE Ltd in 1953 from an oxygen facemask developed by the Royal Aircraft Establishment for the first successful British Everest expedition.
