From an adult with fracture of the bony pelvis and laceration of the membranous urethra. With a little difficulty it was found possible to pass a catheter into the bladder.
The whole of the urethra has been laid open. In the region of the membranous urethra there has been laceration, probably by a bone fragment. There is continuity, however, in the anterior wall, and this made it possible to insert a catheter.
