DescriptionThree cautery irons designed by Eric Leslie Farquharson (1905 - 1970). The instrument was by his own design and made by Gardner & Son Edinburgh. Used in the treatment of Hemorrhoids. Mr Farquharson's daughter remembers her father visiting Archibald Young instrument makers to discuss designs and have instruments made. He was known to have an inventive gift for surgical instruments.
