DescriptionMonochrome drawing showing congenital dislocation of the right hip joint. Of a female aged 4 years 8 months, the 17th of 18 children of whom 6 were born prematurely and 2 died of diphtheria. She walked at 2 and a half years and with a rolling gate. All movements at the hip were full and free. The dislocation was reduced by manipulation and retained in position by a plaster case. Though to begin with the reduction appeared satisfactory, the placement reccured gradually after the plaster was removed. Right limb is shorter than the left and rotated laterally. The trunk leans towards the affected side.
