The swelling was most distinct over the medial condyle of the tibia, was it elastic to the touch, and slightly pulsatile. The new joint itself is unaffected and its movements were free. The limb was amputated through mid-thigh and as one of the popliteal lymph nodes was large and on section appeared to be malignant, the iliofemoral lymph nodes were excised.
