DescriptionSmall, rectangular cardboard box containing a plastic ziploc bag with five medical instruments inside. There is a pair of needlenose forceps with the maker's mark 'Weiss London', a pair of Ophthalmology forceps with the makers mark 'Dixey', one 'Downs England Stainless Steel' Curette, one two-sided Curette marked 'Weiss London', and lastly an unamrked Curette. All are plain in their design with two of the instruments featuring a section of textured surface to act as a grip. The plastic bag they are contained in is labelled 'chalazion set' in green marker pen. The cardboard box has 'John Weiss & Son, LTD., Surgical Instrument Makers, 17, Wigmore Street, London, W.1.' printed on top of the lid. The cardboard box has been labelled 'P.K.Ray' in various spots, a past owner of these instruments.
In addition there are three Ophthalmology instruments found seperately from within the collection owned by Mr Frank Green, included in this case. These include Frankel's dilating nasal speculum, and Ophalmic forceps with adjustment wheel.
Part of 13 donated objects from the ophthalmology collection once belonging to P.K. Ray and used by Mr Frank Green FRCSEd.
