Brass-bound fitted mahogany case lined with purple velvet.
One tray contains thirteen instruments with mother of pearl handles for removing salivary calculus, preparing cavities and inserting gold fillings, together with saw, mirror, lancet, and a screw for extracting roots. The lower compartment contains nine (originally eleven) forceps.
