During surgery, if the posterior cruciate ligament is in good condition, some surgeons will retain this ligament and use cruciate retaining (CR) components. Manufactured by Zimmer. It consists of three main components: the femoral component (cobalt-chromium), the tibial component (titanium alloy) and the plastic spacer (polyethylene). On the back side of the femoral component there's engraved the letters C/R for cruciate retaining, the serial number 5966-13-02 62276500 C, and the logo for Zimmer manufacturers.
