DescriptionEye showing a penetrating wound of the cornea.

A linear incised wound of the cornea involves the limbus and a portion of the sclera and is associated with collapse of the globe. The iris is drawn into the wound and with the lens, which shows secondary cataract, lies in contact with the deep surface of the cornea. Precipitates on the capsule of the lens indicate that inflammation of the ciliary body has followed the injury.
