From an adult male who had had a previous attack of croup. (J. Cheyne “Croup” Edinburgh 1801. 68 and pl.V..)
A fibrinous exudate covers the entire laryngeal surface and extends throughout the whole length of the trachea and there are one or two small patches in the bronchi. This false membrane in the trachea is easily detachable; in the larynx it appears more adherent.
