An outturned leaf is mounted on a bead and pumpkin shaped stem on a round cushion heavily chased with panels depicting birds and animals with three applied peacocks, a snake, a cockroach and a scorpion on a rope border. It is mounted on 3 squat lion feet and all are on a fitted wooden plinth with a silver plate on front. It weighs 153oz. There is no hallmark, An Indian silver comport, late 19th century.
