DescriptionA round salver with applied shell scroll and foliate border on a chased centre. It has three splayed feet. It weighs 34oz. The hallmark is Edinburgh 1823 and it was made by J McKay.
It is inscribed: “Presented to James Syme Esq, Lecturer in Anatomy, by the students in his class during the session 1823-24 as a testimonial of their great respect and esteem.”
