The external acoustic meatus appears blocked by a dark brown tumour which is invading the concha. The skin of the tragus presents a brown discoloration vaguely defined marginally. At the posterior surface of the auricula a nodular overgrowth of somewhat mottled surface, varying from reddish brown to black, replaces the skin and overhangs the posterior surface of the pinna. On section the tumour is densely black and is obviously infiltrating the surrounding tissues.
