TitleNose - rhinolith.
DescriptionNose - rhinolith.
From a married woman aged 25 rears who had suffered from nasal catarrh with some nasal obstruction most of her life. During recent months the nasal discharge became more noticeable and this coincided with eclampsia and loss of he baby. The rhinolith could be seen and felt in the left nasal cavity and was demonstrable by radiographs. The rhinolith became fragmented during removal.
The fragmented rhinolith appears to be calcareous in nature. Its surface is dark in colour, irregular and. tuberculated. The deeper layers are paler in colour. The radiograph shows the rhinolith as a deep opacity in the left nasal cavity. The left maxillary antrum is also opaque due presumably to inflammatory exudate.
