Larynx, showing tuberculosis.
From a male aged 68 who had suffered during two years from increasing hoarseness.
There is an ulcer situated in the region of the left vocal cord and ventricle. The ulcer has eroded a large part of the free margin of the vocal cord and measures 15 mm. by 4 mm. wide. The edge of the ulcer is raised, somewhat nodular and bf pale appearance. Microscopic examination shows tuberculous infection with giant-cells and endothelial systems with early caseation necrosis.
