From a male aged 45 years who died suddenly from asphyxia. He had had hoarseness during two years for which he had had no treatment nor laryngological examination.
A warty, comparatively avascular tumour involves the vocal folds, the ventricles, and. the ventricular folds, and extends to the subglottic and arytaenoid areas. A section of the right arytaenoid shows the deeper infiltration of the growth. The dorsum of the tongue is rough from nodular hypertrophy and is extensively fissured. The epiglottis shows slight marginal irregularity.
