DescriptionThe item consists of: full upper and lower dentures, cardboard box and letter. Full upper and lower vulcanite dentures worn by Sir Henry Wade.
Teeth have been individually characterized. Constructed by Dr David S Middleton. At some point there has been a repair to the two upper central incisors. (Sir Henry Wade (1877 – 1955)).
Box is brown cardboard inscribed with "Sir Henry Wade".
The letter states "These dentures have been presented to the Prosthesis Department by Dr D.S.Middleton. The teeth have been individually characterised by the addition of various shades of porcelain powder and subsequent baking. They belonged to the late Sir Henry Wade and were made by Dr. Middleton. [signature]"
