TitleThatcher's knife
DescriptionKnife with steel blade and wooden handle bound with twine carried by a young thatcher that caused him injury. The handwritten label, possibly written by the donor Professor Annandale, reads:
'This knife was carried in a back pocket and was driven into the gluteal region by a bundle of withes thrown over the shoulder. A gluteal aneurism resulted on which Mr Syme operated.
Donor: Professor Annandale.'
