The calculus comes from the duct of a submandibular salivary gland.
From an adult male in whom a swelling under the tongue had caused an impediment in his speech during nine years. The calculus is somewhat ovoid in shape with a nodular prolongation of its base. It is 22 mm. in length and 10 mm. in maximum breadth, and has a surface which is fairly smooth.
