From a male aged 27 years the subject of bilateral pulmonary tuberculosis. The Wassermann reaction was negative.
The ulcer is situated on the dorsum of the tongue close to the right side of the rnesial plane, about 1 cm. from the tip. The crater is about 1 cm. in diameter and 1 cm. deep, with overhanging edges and a necrotic base. The epiglottis and larynx are healthy. Microscopic examination shows the presence of an endothelial reaction with marked necrosis and nuclear karyorrhexis but no definite giant-cell formation
