DescriptionVermiform process, showing appendicitis.
From an adult, the subject of recurrent appendicitis.
The organ is much enlarged and the distal 90 mm., swollen and distorted, join the proximal 40 mm. at an acute angle. The serosa is shreddy from fibrinous adhesions and in parts is subserous haemorrhage. The proximal portion is moniliform and incision into the distal portion shows the mucosa hypertrophied and oedernatous.
